In any system, the bearing is always one of the components - it requires lubrication to function well, and a seal is required to retain the lubricant and keep it clean. The integration of the seal and lubricant (grease grease) into the bearing allows the bearing to be a complete, ready-to-install device. This makes it highly reliable, durable, and once installed in the system, once and for all.
Based on this idea, SKF created a new product - ICOSTM oil seal bearing device.
In this device, an oil seal (i.e., a spring loaded radial shaft seal) is mounted on one side of the bearing.
This design approach can be applied to most SKF bearings, but we originally applied it to deep groove ball bearings because of their wide range of applications.
